Paul Edwards
The arrival of a $4.5m Trubeam Linear Acceleration at Peter MacCallum Centre in Melbourne will enable more patients, including those with prostate cancer, to receive stereotactic radiation therapy. As the 100th patient who had received stereotactic radiation therapy at Peter Mac, I was invited to watch the new machine arrive. The new machine is much easier and quicker to set up for treatment than the older linear accelerator which has been used until now.
