Paul Edwards Posted October 26, 2013 Share Posted October 26, 2013 The arrival of a $4.5m Trubeam Linear Acceleration at Peter MacCallum Centre in Melbourne will enable more patients, including those with prostate cancer, to receive stereotactic radiation therapy. As the 100th patient who had received stereotactic radiation therapy at Peter Mac, I was invited to watch the new machine arrive. I think that the price reflects the developments in electronics and computer technology. The first computers were very large and expensive with comparatively small processing power.
