Once regular chemotherapy with Taxotere (docetaxel) fails, a gentler tablet, abiraterone, can give many men some months of quality life.

Currently abiraterone (brand name Zytiga) costs $36,000 per year.

There is a proposal to put it on the PBS for almost free.

The committee deciding this has asked for comments from people who may be affected.

They also want to hear from men who have tried it.
