Diagnostic imaging with FCH PET/CT promising in finding local recurrence and lymph node metastases

Recommended Posts

In short:

An injection of a newly developed substance, (fluorocholinefluoromethyl-dimethyl-2-hydroxyethylammonium, known affectionately to its friends as FCH) when combined with a PET scan and a CT scan, in a small study appears:

  • not to be more effective in finding tumors in newly diagnosed men:
  • to be effective in finding recurrent tumors after surgical radical prostatectomy.
