If you are diabetic, add 2,000 steps a day for some improvement - aim for 10,000 steps

2,000 steps a day is about 1.6 km or 1 mile.

10,000 steps a day is about 8 km or 5 miles.

Researcher said that adding 2,000 steps a day improves insulin sensitivity for diabetics.

Where current recommendations are for 3,000 steps a day, the researchers have identified the difference 10,000 steps a day would make.
