Both cause liver damage. So drugs much the same except Zytiga proven after chemotherapy. Snuffy Myers says Ketoconazole works after chemo, but not proven. So Zytiga is just as complex as Ketoconazole. Myth - Ketoconazole works by lowering testosterone. Ketoconazole will destroy prostate cancer cells that do not respond to testosterone. Dr Snuffy Myers says often has Ketoconazole response with measured high levels of testosterone. Different drugs - different targets. Snuffy Myers has seen response to Ketoconazole after Zytiga failure, and expects the reverse to be true. So drugs complimentary rather than competitive.
