Admin
Instructions for joining in on Friday to hear Mark Moyad will come out later today (as Agenda). This is a special request for you to be thoughtful on Friday. On Friday hundreds of people will be listening, in Australia, and around the world. The phone line only allows one person or sound at a time. Please, don't be that person who: Answers another call, or puts us on hold. Why: We all are stuck listening to your hold music instead of our speaker while you chat or go for a pee. How: Hang up on us, then take your call or pee. Call back in. If necessary, catch up on what you missed, or the whole thing, on the YouTube recording posted soon. Allows noise from radio, TV, computer, pets, other phones, conversation, neighbours mower. Why: Makes it hard for everyone to hear. How 1: Make sure you have your Mute button pressed. How 2: No mute? Hang up on us until the noise stops. Call back in. If necessary, catch up on what you missed, or the whole thing, on the YouTube recording posted soon. Breathes into the mouthpiece Why: Makes it hard for everyone to hear. How 1: Make sure you have your Mute button pressed. How 2: No mute? Hold your phone so your mouthpiece is away from your mouth. It might look foolish - but having the mouthpiece right up in the air will help everyone. Imagines it is a personal conversation Why: If you imagine this is just an ordinary conversation between the speaker and you, and you do ordinary conversation things like saying "Couldn't agree more" or "Very true", or even "Yes", your voice stops others from hearing the speaker. How: This is a meeting. It is important to wait until you are asked to speak. Leave your phone on Mute until you are called on to speak. No Mute button? ##4 to mute, ##5 to unmute. Speaker phone Please do NOT use a speaker phone, unless you are very good at keeping it Mute, and at lifting and using the hand piece when you wish to join in the conversation. Mobile phone You will need enough charge for the length of the call, or take the call with your charger plugged in. Speaking Speak clearly into mouthpiece in ordinary voice. Say who you are when signing in, and each time you speak. Help the secretary by later emailing details for the minutes. Restarting You may hang up and sign in again as many times as necessary. Sometimes we may have to restart the meeting - dial in again. With everyone calling at once you may need to try more than once.
