I had the privilege of being in the audience today when the National Chairman of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA), David Sandoe OAM, presented the 2014 PCFA Research Award to a man who, after a distinguished career as a leading radiation oncologist, then devoted many more years to supporting men with prostate cancer. 


 


This support  included attending prostate cancer support groups in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast, leading the PCFA Queensland and Northern NSW Chapter Council as its chairman for a number of years, and a number of years on other committees, including the Research Committee that allocated PCFA funds to researchers working on prostate cancer.


 


I am sure you will all wish to join me in congratulating our distinguished Chairman, Dr Bruce Kynaston, on this most well deserved award.
