Note that this study was published as an abstract and presented at a conference. These data and conclusions should be considered to be preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed journal.Doctors should explain that a majority of prostate cancer survivors reported long-term treatment-related adverse effects with surgery or radiation therapy. Doctors should point out that the most common posttreatment symptoms fell into four categories: sexual, urinary, bowel, and vitality, with sexual symptoms the most common (90%).
